Cat 5e – A Reliable Connection
- What is it? An improved version of Cat 5, designed to reduce interference and improve performance.
- Speed: Supports up to 1 Gbps (Gigabit Ethernet).
- Distance: Works up to 100 metres (328 feet).
- Best for: Home networks, small offices, and basic internet use.
Cat 6 – A Faster, Smoother Connection
- What is it? A stronger, better-shielded version of Cat 5e that reduces noise and interference.
- Speed: Supports up to 1 Gbps and can handle 10 Gbps over short distances.
- Distance: Works up to 100 metres (but 10 Gbps speeds drop after 55 metres).

- Speed: Supports up to 10 Gbps over 100 metres and can handle frequencies up to 600 MHz (even better than Cat 6a).
